Welcome!

Hi there, I'm Chris. (Granis on the privateer forums.) And this is my new blog to postabout Warmachine and Hordes stuff! Battle Reports, army list theory talk, and thoughts on the game and stuff, and maybe even some modeling and painting stuff.

You can see my current armies on the panel on the right hand side, but I'll go over them breifly!

Menoth: This was my first WarmaHordes army, I had started building it all the way back in MK1, around the time the Apotheosis book came out and I was captivated by Krieoss2 greeting me on the cover, however, I had been really struggling with the faction for some time, especialy due to the move to MK3, and I've mostly retired my Menoth, I'll make a blog post discussing my menoth army and lists and stuff and why I decided to branch out rather than try to "fix" them for MK3 by rebuying Menoth stuff that's more in vogue for MK3.

Circle: This is the army I'm currently playing, although I'm still struggling with them, I feel better w/ Circle than I did with Menoth, maybe because Menoth is very slow, and MK3 really hurt their mobility options, (especially their "not get gummed up by terrain" options) and Circle is sort of the polar opposite of that.

Retribution: This is gonna be my new Warmachine army. Honestly, if Ret existed back in MK1, I might've just started with them. They just seem more forgiving than Menoth as far as I can tell, I like their rules, I like the forcefields, I like having not-garbage stat lines without support, which makes it feel less punishing in comparison to Menoth where you had to combo and synergize everything and have perfect Order of Activations or you were done. Ret just feels friendlier to use in that reguard from their support toolboxes to their warcaster spell lists just seeming more user friendly than Menoth's, but I also like the models better for painting. That helps me to learn and stick to a faction.

But anyway, it might take me some time to bring you guys some writeups or Battle Reports, so please sit tight. First up is hopefully talking in depth aboutmy armies and my current struggles with them (including my motivating for stepping away from Menoth.) Hopefully that won't take as long as I think.

It's nice tomeet you all, Let's look forward to Steamroller 2017 together!
